Russia’s Tupolev Tu-22M3 strike bombers arrived in Shaykovka in Kaluga Region on Tuesday after finishing their combat mission in Syria and successfully carrying out strikes on ISIS.
“All of the set targets were destroyed by long-range jets,” Sergei Kobylash, Commander of long-range aviation said.
“Returning home is always [emotional] in any weather. [Returning home means reuniting with] your family, and [that means] a good mood. I hope that everyone will return to their families, and the emotions of family members would make it warmer as this happens at home,” he continued.
Meanwhile, another group of aircrafts returned to their bases after their successful missions in Syria.
“After successfully completing tasks of targeting terrorist facilities in Syria, crew members of the Tu-22M3 long-range bombers have completed the process of returning the aircraft from the operational airfield in North Ossetia to their home base in the Irkutsk Region,” the statement reads.
