ROME, Italy – Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir discussed a wide array of issues including Syria, Iran, Yemen and Lebanon during the second day of the third Mediterranean Dialogues (MED) summit in Rome on Friday.
He went onto claim that the Lebanese Shi’ite group Hezbollah who successfully resists Israel does not bring peace to Lebanon.
“Lebanon will only survive or prosper if you disarm Hezbollah,” Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir told a conference in Italy. “As long as you have an armed militia, you will not have peace in Lebanon.”
The in another bizarre statement, he went onto claim that Iran supports Al-Qaeda.
He then claimed that Iran is responsible for most of the upheaval in the Middle East, rather than US intervention or their own sponsorship of terrorist organisations.
“Since 1979, the Iranians have literally got away with murder in our region, and this has to stop,” he said.
The full extent of Saudi collusion with terrorist groups and their geopolitical rivalry with Iran can be found in my book here.
