The Russian Central Election Commission has so far received notifications of the desire to participate in the presidential election by 67 applicants, of whom 46 are self-nominated, the head of the Central Electoral Commission Ella Pamfilova said.
“After 2012, our electoral legislation has been liberalized to the maximum, the possibility of registering parties has been simplified, we have about seventy now, and as a result, self registration for the presidential elections has been simplified.” To date, on January 7, we have already have 67 candidates: representatives of 21 parties and 46 self-nominated, “- said Pamfilova.
The seventh day of January is the last day when candidates who decided to run for president in the self-nomination elections can submit their documents. Elections of the President of the Russian Federation are scheduled for March 18.
