The main threat to Poland is Russia, as stated by Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in an interview at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Morawiecki also fears Russia’s “invasion” of Ukraine. “What will happen when the Russian army moves deep into Ukrainian territory is unknown. It is better to have a second and third line of defense than to remain without these kinds of weapons,”- the Polish Prime Minister said.

He went on to express his opinion about the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project – stating that at it’s implementation, Ukraine will be on the losing side. “Gas pipelines, which are currently used to transport Russian fuel to Western Europe, will become unnecessary. Despite what Germany says, this is not a business project,” he stressed.
