UPDATE: Since publication, the Airbase has been captured in its entirety. Details can be read here.

IDLIB, Syria – Reports have just emerged that Al-Qaeda affiliated Al-Nusra Front have abandoned the Abu Duhur airbase in Idlib province to the Syrian Army.

This comes as it seems likely the Syrian Army will create a pocket, trapping all jihadists inside it, whether ISIS to the Al-Nusra Front.

According to the same reports, the Syrian Army have entered the airbase from the southern entrance by advancing from Tell Salmo.

Although many sources have confirmed the Syrian Army have entered the airbase, Fort Russ News cannot verify for certain at this moment if Al-Nusra have completely abandoned the Abu Duhur airbase.
