IDLIB, Syria – The Syrian Army has continued defeating jihadists, primarily the Al-Qaeda affiliated Al-Nusra Front, in southeastern Idlib countryside only a week after beginning an operation to defeat the terrorist organization.
The Syrian Arab Army’s elite Tiger Forces liberated the town of Ard az-Zurzur.
Ard az-Zurzur joins a plethora of towns, hilltops and other key sites that has been liberated by pro-government forces since the new operation began last week.
Idlib province was overrun in early 2015 by a coalition of jihadist forces who launched their offensive after mobilizing in Turkey. The entirety of the province was taken with the exception of the Shi’ite towns of Fua and Kefraya.
