Former high ranking officials embezzled millions from Ukraine’s natural resources

The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine suspects the former Prime Minister of Ukraine, Mykola Azarov, and former head of the National Bank, Sergei Arbuzov, of embezzlement. This was announced today by Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Yuriy Lutsenko.

Azarov is wanted on complicity to the illegal taking of  liquefied gas produced by PJSC Ukrgazvobycha and Ukrnafta, in large quantities, which caused a loss to the state in the amount of 2.2 billion hryvnias (77 millions of dollars.)

Sergei Arbuzov is suspected of complicity in the acquisition of funds from Chernomorneftegaz  (Black Sea gas) to the amount of 3.2 billion hryvnia (114 million dollars).
