Illegal to be Russian: former Crimean Minister arrested in Kiev

Kherson city court has sent under arrest the former Minister of Health of Crimea, Peter Mikhalchevsky, who was spotted in Kiev by the employees of the Security Service of Ukraine. 

Mikhalchevsky was detained in the framework of the investigation of the criminal case under the articles of the Ukrainian Criminal Code “Encroachment on the territorial integrity of Ukraine” and “Treason”. At the address of his temporary stay in the capital, they conducted an authorized search, taking the passport of the Russian citizen, an official certificate and other documents.

Pyotr Mikhalchevsky headed the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Crimea in March 2014 after the reunification of the peninsula with Russia as a result of the referendum held there.
