Nearly 600 Kurdish YPG killed by Turkish-led forces in Syria’s Afrin: Turkish military

AFRIN, Syria –  The Turkish military has announced from its “Olive Branch Operation” Twitter account that nearly 600 so-called terrorists have died since the Turkish-led operation against the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) began nine days ago.

The Twitter account also claimed that 44 targets were destroyed by 25 warplanes last night, killing a total of 40 so-called terrorists.

Turkey claims that it is also fighting the ISIS terrorist group, and not just the YPG in Afrin. They are yet to provide any proof however that ISIS has a presence in Afrin.

If the claims made are true, this demonstrates a significant casualty rate upon YPG fighters in a relatively short period of time.
