ALEPPO, Syria – In response to what appears to be the inevitable Turkish invasion of the Kurdish-controlled Afrin Canton in northern Syria, the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) launched a barrage of rockets yesterday that hit the Azaz hospital in a Turkish-backed area of Syria.

Over 13 casualties have been reported and emergency services were rushed to the now damaged hospital.

Kurdish civilians in Afrin as well as other areas fear Turkish reprisals on hospital facilities.

Local authorities in both Kurdish and Turkish areas arranged emergency services for civilians.
