AFRIN, Syria – Turkish warplanes were busy on Tuesday not only dropping bombs on the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) militia, but also dropping leaflets throughout the northwest Syrian canton of Afrin warning residents not to join the YPG.
The leaflets were dropped in both Arabic and Turkish as seen in the above and below photos.
“It is time to end the abuses and grievances of the YPG, PYD terrorists organizations,” the leaflet said.
It also called for Afrin civilians to keep away from the YPG to protect their youth, children, homes and the future.
This came 10 days after Turkey launched a military operation against the YPG titled Operation Olive Branch in a bid to remove the militia from the Turkish-Syrian border as they deem it a terrorist organization.
