AFRIN, Syria – Turkish-backed forces claim to have captured the city of Qastal Jandu from the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) in the northwest Syrian canton of Afrin.

The capture of the town after they took control of the Barsaya mountains from the YPG.

Turkish-led forces in turn have posted photos of them in the town and Barsaya mountain, which has been the site of intense battles and continuous back and forth over who controls the mountaintop.
