Syrian army repels ISIL attacks in Deir Ez-Zor

Syrian troops have repelled the attacks of ISIL militants  in the province of Deir ez-Zor.

The militants tried to attack the villages of Kamsha and Garbia. During the clashes, the Syrian military elimitated more than twenty terrorists and destroyed their weapons. 

The day before it was reported that the Syrian army responded to an attack by Djabhat Al-Nusra in the north of Latakia province and eliminated thirteen militants. 

In the south of the province of Idlib, government troops continue to clean up the air base of Abu Duhur, liberated from terrorists a few days ago. Militants continue to make counterattack attempts. 

Scattered groups of terrorists remain in Syria – Russia’s Foreign Minister expressed confidence that these militants will not last long. 

In December, Russia announced the almost-defeat of ISIL in Syria. The operation began in September 2015; in December 2017, Russia withdrew most of its forces from Syria.
