The Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin stated that Kiev will not remove its military equipment from the Crimea in response to Moscow’s offer.
“We do not have any dialogue with Russia on issues relating to the status of the Crimea, so we will not do any thing that could weaken our legal or political position there.”- said Klimkin.
The Ukrainian minister pointed out that Kiev did not receive an official appeal from Russia, and called Moscow’s offer “a trick.”
An ageing Ukrainian Navy is currently parked in Crimea free of charge, taking up space. President Putin has recently offered the Ukraine take its equipment back – but to no avail.
