The National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine has initiated amendments to the legislation allowing the introduction of fines or criminal liability for Ukrainian artists performing in Russia.
The National Council receives appeals concerning the performances of Ukrainian artists who are actively touring in Russia.
The National Council believe that “legislators should apply the world practice to impact domestic performers, who tour in a country recognized as an aggressor.”
These can be penalties or criminal liability. A TV and radio organization could be required to limit the participation of such artists or cultural figures on air, possibly for a certain period- suggests the National Council for Broadcasting.
