IDLIB, Syria – A former famous Syrian soccer player turned jihadist uploaded a video yesterday of him on a recently recaptured hill top that him and his group took from the Syrian Army.
Abdul Baset al-Sarout (former goalkeeper and became famous during the Siege of Homs) was videoed at Tall Maraq in the jihadist-held Idlib province yesterday morning.

The 26-year-old commander has had an uncle and four brothers killed fighting against the Syrian government.
Before the war began he had represented Syria at under 17’s and under 20’s level.
He is the Commander of Homs al-Adiyat Brigade which just seven days ago joined the Army of Glory aka Jaysh al-Izza, an internationally recognized terrorist organization.
