WATCH as Moscow says that the drones that attack Russian base in Syria are not homemade

January 12, 2018 – Fort Russ News – Paul Antonopoulos

MOSCOW, Russia – The drones used to attack Khmeimim Air Base on January 6 could not have been ”manufactured in amateur conditions” said Alexander Novikov, head of the Russian General Staff’s Office for the Development of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles at a briefing on Thursday.

The statement comes following an unsuccessful attack by jihadist forces using UAVs carrying improvised explosive devices on the Khmeimim Air Base in Syria.

On the night of January 6, 13 homemade drones attempted to attack the Russian military bases of Khmeimim and Tartus.

7 were shot down by the anti-aircraft missile and gun system “Pantsir-S1”, as reported yesterday by FRN with full details here.
