AFRIN, Syria – Eastern Mediterranean News has revealed on its twitter that a terrorist organization that in the past has beheaded a child is leading the Turkish-backed invasion of the Kurdish-held canton of Afrin in northern Syria.
“Zinki reserved 200 fighters to repel the #SAA advance east Hama/S. Idlib (which obviously failed) and today we see that Zinki reserved over 2500 fighters for the #Afrin offensive!” EMN said in a tweet.

The Zinki group in 2016 beheaded a 12 year old Palestinian child in the Syrian city of Aleppo on charges that he was spying on behalf of the Syrian government.
In the past, they also received funding from the United States.
It is not revealed with this tweet that they are one of the leading groups fighting the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) in Afrin, where operations are being conducted with the backing of Turkey to defeat them.
