MOSCOW, Russia – Head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Russia met with Jordanian King Abdullah II in Moscow on Thursday.
Patriarch Kirill said that each country must overcome their differences in order to create a united front to combat international terrorism.
He underlined that there were two military coalitions that have a “lack of coordination and interaction” in Syria. It was a “colossal challenge as well as a risk, which could lead to potential conflict,” Patriarch said.
The Head of the Russian Orthodox Church also mentioned that when he sensed “danger” he had reached out to Pope Francis to organise a meeting which was “unprecedented” since “never before had the Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia met with the Pope.”
The King of Jordan then went onto praise Russia’s role in fighting terrorism in Syria.
