A passenger who had previously refunded his tickets on the crashed flight has spoken to media.
A resident of Sochi, Maxim Kolomeitsev, who was supposed to fly from Moscow to Orsk on the crashed aircraft An-148, cancelled the trip a number of days prior, and refunded his tickets.
On February 11th, An-148 “Saratov Airlines” aircraft crashed a few minutes after the departure from the Moscow airport “Domodedovo”. On board were 71 people, all of whom have perished.
“The original tickets were Sochi-Moscow-Orsk. I was going to go with my girlfriend, but had a change of plans.” said Kolomeitsev, adding that he had lost about 10,000 rubles on the refund.
The peculiarity is not only that – but this is the third time when he missed a trip due to a change of plans, all of which ended fatally for passengers and crew.
According to the man, whose family lives in Orsk, he wanted to celebrate his birthday on February 11 and buy himself a car there. The car dealership notified of a delay in the process, and that it would not be available until later.
Kolomeitsev decided to spend his birthday in Moscow instead.
