DEIR EZZOR, Syria – Eleven militants belonging to the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) were saved by an Iranian-backed Iraqi Shi’ite militia in eastern Syria from a powerful ISIS offensive.
The Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) near the Iraqi-Syrian border had to come rescue the Kurdish-led SDF after skirmishes with ISIS in the eastern desert province of Deir Ezzor led to the SDF fighters retreating towards Iraq.
The Iranian-backed Iraqi forces fought back the ISIS units and are now caring for the SDF fighters as seen in the photos above and below.

Despite US war mongering towards Iran, it is now Iranian-backed forces who have had to rescue the US-backed SDF from ISIS.
