AFRIN, Turkey – Turkey-backed militants have arrested a female Kurdish civilian and masqueraded her a fighter for the Kurdish fighter for the Female Protection Units (YPJ) who are aligned with the YPG, according to Kurdish journalist Mustafa Abdi.

He claims that they tied her hands up and changed her from civilian clothes into a military uniform to present her as a captured YPJ fighter for propaganda purposes.

This comes as Turkey leads an invasion of the Afrin region in northwest Syria that is controlled by the YPG.

In response to this, the Syrian government has mobilized fighters belonging to the National Defense Force to assist the YPG in countering the Turkey-led invasion.
