Speaking at the National Press Club in Washington, Russian presidential candidate Ksenia Sobchak said she does not see NATO as a threat to Russia.
Sobchak noted that Russia is part of the European system, and stressed the importance of cooperation with the North Atlantic alliance and European structures.
Ksenia Sobchak was asked to comment on the intentions of Georgia and Ukraine regarding joining NATO. She said that it is certainly “an aspiration of independent states.”
According to Sobchak, “Russia hasn’t got a lot to do with this prospect, since we are talking about sovereign countries only.”
