Russian internet safety agency warns against some Apps

Mobile applications that allow users to find out who is calling them, even if that person has their ID blocked or you don’t have that number in your contacts, threaten the security of their own personal data. This warning was made by Roskomnadzor, Russia’s internet security agency, accompanied by a screenshot of the  GetContact application, which is one of the most popular ones.

“By installing such applications, you give the third party access to all (!) your information (including personal information) from your page or phone.”

Developers of such applications, the department notes, can sell the collected database to data collectors, scammers or sellers of services.
