AFRIN, Syria – Dozens of civilians are being treated for various types of injuries in Afrin Hospital in northern Syria.
This comes as as Turkey’s ‘Olive Branch’ military operations against the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) continue, footage from Saturday reveals.
According to the Head of the emergency department in Afrin Hospital, Dr. Joan Nasser the hospital receives “dozens of wounded daily, and most of the injured lose their upper or lower limbs, most of them women and children.”
Although Turkish-led forces made little progress against the YPG in northwest Syria in the initial phase of the operation, they are now on a consistent role capturing site after site. This spells bad news for the YPG as Turkish-led forces creep closer to Afrin city.
