A world junior record has been accomplished by figure skater Alexandra Trusova. The thirteen-year-old athlete made two quadruple jumps , which has not been accomplished by any other skater in history, even in adult competitions.
The Ice Palace of Sports in Sofia, Bulgaria witnessed the performance of 13-year-old Russian Alexandra Trusova. Never before had such a complicated technical program been done at junior competitions.
The most complicated of elements, which was previously considered exclusively male competition prerogative, was performed for the first time by the female Russian figure skater.
“There were attempts about 25 years by a Frenchwoman, which was never a success” explained sports commentator Alexander Grishin. After the successful program, the judges ascertained the absolute superiority of Trusova in the competition. The result was the maximum possible score for technique of 92.35.
Alexandra Trusova trains with Eteri Tutberidze, who also trained recent Olympic champions Alina Zagitova and Yevgeny Medvedev. “The next achievement of coach Tutberidze is Sasha [Alexandra] Trusova: this is an absolute triumph!” said sports commentator Andrei Zhurankov.
Trusova’s father is a judo, sambo and hand-to-hand combat champion. When she was nine years old, Trusova moved from her native Ryazan to Moscow to train with Eteri Tutberidze. At just 13 years old, she has dominated the competition in Sofia. Trusova is forecasted to be Tutberidze’s next Olympic protege.
