Kurds launch new political party in Syria, calls for decentralization
RAQQA, Syria – A new political party has been launched in Syria, comprising mostly of Kurds, that call for a decentralized Syria.
The political party, dubbed the “Future Syria Party” was launched in the former ISIS capital of Raqqa that is currently occupied by the US-backed and Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The motto of the new party is “Democratic, Pluralistic and Decentralized Syria.” The aims of the new party is explicit, which suggests there is a problem with a centralized Syria that they want to address, despite Damascus already heading in the path of decentralization before the began in 2011.

This comes as in mid-February, the US paymasters of the SDF urged the group to replace calls for “Federalism” with “Decentralization.” However, the aims of the US has always been to weaken Syria, and a weakening of Damascus’ powers is one such way.
