Olympic star falls, advised to eat less

Honored trainer of the USSR, Tatiana Tarasova , commented on the performance of Russian figure skater Alina Zagitova, who fell three times in the arbitrary program at the World Championships in Milan. At that, Alina became a Gold medal Olympic champion just a few weeks ago.

“Since the Olympic Games, she has grown by 3 cm  – she just needs to eat less. When you are still growing up, muscles do not keep up with growth, and as such coordination is lost,” Tarasova said.

According to the coach, the athlete went to the World Cup in good shape and was ready to fight for her rightful place.

The press service of the Federation of figure skating of Russia quotes the words of Zagitova’s choreographer Daniil Gleyhenhaus. According to the him, the sportswoman just failed to cope with nerves and high psychological pressure.

“Unfortunately, in an arbitrary program she did not cope with the nerves, we will analyze why this happened and we will work on it,” he said.

The 15-year-old Russian woman dropped to fifth place in the standings. But it is important to bear in mind that she is only 15 and has every chance to earn back first place.
