Former head prosecutor of Crimea and State Duma deputy from United Russia, Natalia Poklonskaya, has commented on Ksenia Sobchak’s most recent shenanigan – asking the Ukrainian embassy to allow her to visit the Crimea. Poklonskaya called it “an intentional show and provocation.”
Sobchak, who claims to be a candidate “against all”, said earlier that the Crimea is Ukrainian territory. She later admitted that most Crimeans want to be part of Russia. On Tuesday, Sobchak appealed to the Ukrainian embassy for permission to visit the Crimea, which she considers Ukrainian.
“Now it will be interesting to observe how the Ukrainian authorities will get out of this situation, after all, having issued a “permit” they thereby recognize that Sobchak is campaigning on the territory of the Crimea. Sobchak either registered her candidacy in the wrong country – or – she is, of course, a master show girl: the more noise, scandals and provocations, the better. ” Poklonskaya said.
Natalia Poklonskaya also promised to apply to the Central Electoral Commission to review the legitimacy of Sobchak’s actions.
