Poland to expel Russian diplomats, follows Britain’s lead
The Polish publication Gazeta Prawna, citing sources in the government, reports that in Warsaw they are considering the possibility of expelling Russian diplomats and imposing economic restrictions. In addition, sanctions may be imposed against the close circle of President Vladimir Putin.
The journalists found out that sanctions were supposed to be introduced last week, but decided to wait for the results of the presidential election first. The head of the Polish government, Mateusz Moravetski, has already held talks on this topic with British Prime Minister Theresa May. At the moment, Warsaw insists on sanctions against Russia at the level of the European Union, but is also ready for independent action.
