Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov called the British accusations against Russia in connection with the case of Sergey Skripal ‘s poisoning “boorish and unfounded”.
The minister recalled that Russia’s permanent representative to the United Nations proposed to accept a document on the need for an investigation, on the basis of the Convention on the prohibition of chemical weapons, but the representative of Great Britain blocked the proposal.
“Therefore, judge for yourself, that the British are unconditionally supported the Americans, despite their blocking of the investigation” Sergey Lavrov said.
In his view, the Skripal case “reflects, above all, the despair of the current British government.”
Russia’s permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzia, was surprised at the words of Nikki Haley, who, in his wordsm acted as an “experienced chemist.” In her speech, Haley said that Washington is in solidarity with London “in the matter of the chemical attack in Salisbury.”
In response, Vasily Nebenzia cited the conclusion of professional chemists that London could have its own formula of the nerve agent “Novice”, which allegedly poisoned Sergei Skripal.
Nebenzia noted that these “amazing events” are taking place before our eyes where the presumption of innocence is replaced by a presumption of guilt.
“Today, Ambassador Haley, as an experienced chemist, an expert in the field of chemistry, has told us about the crimes of Russia. We have known for a long time that you, in order to establish the perpetrators, do not need any investigation, ” he said.
