Syrian government troops, with the support of the allied forces, have freed all settlements in Eastern Ghouta, formerly claimed by terrorists. This is stated in the official statement of the command of the Syrian army.

“After a series of carefully planned battles and military operations carried out by our armed forces, in interaction with allied forces, control over all the cities and settlements of East Ghouta has been restored,” the Syrian command declares. In addition, for the first time in seven years, government forces unblocked the main Damascus highway.

The southern outpost of militants in East Ghouta was the most dangerous for Damascus. Terrorists carried out daily mortar and rocket attacks on the Syrian capital.

More than 150,000 civilians have utilised the humanitarian corridors to leave the area – which the US State Department claimed “do not work.”
