Ukraine pushes US to sanction countries supporting Nord Stream 2
The chairman of the Ukrainian parliament, Andrew Parubiy, said that the EU should impose sanctions against companies that are involved in building the Nord Stream-2.
“We highly appreciate the support of the American allies and urge other countries to impose sanctions against the companies involved in the construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline,” the UNN agency quotes him.
Parubiy recalled that earlier the heads of parliaments of Lithuania, Latvia, Moldova, Poland and Ukraine signed a joint letter on the “inadmissibility” of the project.

The German companies E.ON, Wintershall, BASF, the international Shell company, the Austrian OMV, the French ENGIE, the Czech NET4Gas and other European enterprises and concerns are all participating in the construction of Nord Stream 2 pipiline. The project serves as a major initiative in energy security for Europe.
The US threatened to sanction the companies involved in the construction of the Nord Stream-2 and spoke in favor of the cancellation of the project, since it would “undermine the stability of Europe.”
