Ukrainian athletes will never take part in Russian sports events
The Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, Igor Zhdanov, has signed an order, according to which Ukrainian athletes will not be able to participate in any competitions in Russia.
“I signed a new order stating, that in accordance with the recently adopted law of Ukraine “On the state policy for ensuring Ukraine’s state sovereignty over temporarily occupied territories in Donetsk and Lugansk regions”, Ukrainian athletes will not be able to compete in any competitions that take place on the territory Russia.
According to Zhdanov, competitions in Russia are “dangerous” for Ukrainian athletes. The Ukrainian minister urged international federations not to hold any sporting competitions in Russia.
