EAST GHOUTA, Syria – The Syrian Army has been unrelenting in its efforts to remove terrorism from East Ghouta to the east of Damascus center.
The rapid advancements made by the Syrian Army has seen them liberate over 40% of the East Ghouta in the month-long operation.
Despite the impressive gains, the Syrian Army are yet to liberate the major towns of the region, primarily Douma, Harasta Irbin and Jobar.
These towns are expected to offer the most resistance with any upcoming efforts by the Syrian Army to liberate them. It is expected the Syrian Army will try to cut each town from each other.
It was previously reported that 32% of East Ghouta was liberated, but this is now more truly reflected to 40%.
