SANA’A, Yemen – Footage released on Thursday, showed severe damage caused to Sana’a International Airport in the Yemeni capital.
This comes amid ongoing Saudi-led coalition airstrikes carried out against the airport.
The Sana’a International Airport has been closed for almost a year due to the Saudi Arabian blockade against the country.
Saudi Arabia launched its aggression on Yemen in March 2015 to reinstate the pro-Saudi leader and remove the Houthi-led Ansarullah Movement from power. Despite three years at war with the coalition comprised of various militias, it has failed to achieve its outcome and has resorted to continually attacking Yemeni infrastructure to completely lay to ruin what is already the Arab worlds poorest country.
This is part of a greater proxy battle between Saudi Arabia and Iran. Although the Ansarullah Movement deny being supported by Iran, their victory in Yemen weakens Saudi Arabia’s so-called security concerns and will hinder their efforts in becoming the regions sole hegemonic power.
