Relations between Russia and Britain sharply escalated against the backdrop of the incident in the British Salisbury, where ex-colonel of the GRU reserve, Sergei Skripal, who worked for the British special services, was poisoned with a nerve agent.
Britain repeatedly stated that it was proven the substance came from Russia – until Porton Down laboratory denied that the source of the nerve agent was never established.
