Children of deceased Syrian and Russian officers to meet at summer camp

Children of the deceased Syrian military from Damascus are due to arrive at Russia’ “Artek”, where together with the children of Russian servicemen who died in Syria, they will take part in the International Children’s Military summer camp “Eternal Flame-2018”, said the Chairman of “United Russia” Dmitry Sablin.

“It was very important for us that during this special May intake, the children, whose childhood was ruined by war, could attend the best children’s summer camp in Russia.” 
Children from Syria will come to Artek together with the children of Russia’s fallen in the fight against international terrorism. The children are “heirs of the memory of those fighting against global evil”, the friendship bonds that will be built at Artek will make another thread that connect Russia and Syria, “-  Sablin said.

The children will also take part in the May 9th parade in Sevastopol, the march of the Immortal Regiment, and take part in the annual campaign “We Remember” where children write letters to veterans.

Artek is considered one of the best international children’s summer camps in Russia, on the Crimean peninsula. While the working language is Russian, English is also spoken as it attracts many children from abroad annually.
