The FSB has prevented a terrorist act in Stavropol, which was being prepared by an individual belonging to the ISIS terrorist group. With reference to the FSB Public Relations Center, a suspect who swore allegiance to the ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, planned terrorist attacks using firearms and improvised explosive devices. The targets of the attacks were to be the buildings of the government of the Stavropol Territory and the regional security agency.
The FSB officers attempted to detain the militant, but he responded with gunfire. He was then fatally wounded and died. At his home, a 16th-caliber rifle with ammunition was found, a knife, a bag of home-made bomb elements such as screws and nails, an ISIS flag, a handwritten text with the oath to the leader, as well as layouts and approaches to buildings of the regional government and the FSB.
Earlier today, a court in St. Petersburg authorized the arrest of two Kyrgyz citizens who tried to leave for Syria from Russia to join Jabhat al- Nusra. In Dagestan, a group of militants were eliminated and another group are being held hostage in a house.
