Hungary re-elects Orban for another four years


The National Electoral Committee of Hungary has counted up 100 percent of the votes in the general election to the State Assembly of April 8.

According to published data, the Hungarian Civil Union coalition with the Christian Democratic People’s Party won 49.6 percent of the vote. The Christian Democratic People’s Party is headed by the acting Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban.

The opposition was not able to come close any significant result: “For Better Hungary”gained 19.2 percent of the vote, while the Hungarian Socialist Party and the “Dialogue for Hungary” block scored 12 percent.
