The Zhukovsky Moscow airport is now back to working in regular mode. On Saturday, April 28, it was closed due to an emergency landing of an IL-38 aircraft of the Indian Air Force.
The pilot reported that certain elements of the aircraft were not responding. The crew did everything possible to avoid a tragedy, save lives and the aircraft: for several hours they circled over the airport to work out the remainin fuel, and at the time of landing demonstrated the highest level of flight training.
The pilot kept the machine steady as it descended, until it smoothly ‘lay down’ on the runway. The aircraft received minor damage. After repairs, it will be back in operation.
