MOSCOW, Russia – Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russian-Chinese relations are of “an unprecedented nature” before his talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Moscow on Thursday.
Putin congratulated Wang Yi and “all the people of China” on the “successful ending of a very important event – the National People’s Congress,” which adopted a “number of very important decisions for the development of the People’s Republic of China.”
The Russian president expressed his hope that “after the election of the President of the Russian Federation as well as important domestic political events in China, we will continue our course to strengthen bilateral ties and friendly relationship.”
In turn, the Chinese Foreign minister congratulated Putin on his presidential re-election “with a record result.”
“We firmly believe in the wonderful future of Russia under your presidency and wonderful future of Chinese-Russian relations under the guidance of our leaders,” the Chinese top diplomat said.
Wang also met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to discuss preparations for Putin’s upcoming state visit to China.
