Saudis force Qatar to send troops to Syria
Qatar should be sending its troops to Syria if it does not want to lose its military support, Saudi Foreign Minister Adil al-Jubair said.
“Qatar must send troops to Syria before the US president refuses protection of Qatar, in the form of a US military base on its territory,” the minister said. According to the minister, if the US ceases to ensure the security of Qatar, then the regime in this country will be toppled in less than a week.
In June 2017, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain severed diplomatic relations with Qatar, accusing it of supporting terrorism. Kuwait’s attempts to reconcile its neighbors across the region were unsuccessful.

In turn, Russia is categorically against sending Qatar troops to Syria. “Russia will categorically oppose this, I am sure, on what grounds will this dispatch be carried out? This is a gross violation of the UN Charter, norms of international law,” said deputy Igor Morozov.
