Trump’s Syria troop withdrawal plan ‘surprised’ Iran

MOSCOW, Russia – Iran`s Defence Minister Amir Hatami expressed his surprise about the US President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw the US troops from Syria, speaking from Moscow on Thursday.

“Frankly speaking, I was surprised, because the Americans had plans to stay in Syria and divide it up,” he said.

Speaking about the Turkish operation in Syria’s Afrin, he noted that Turkey has “some concerns about security, it would be better to deal with this concern through the Syrian government.”

“Those forces that entered the Syrian territory without the agreement of the Syrian government must leave the territory of this country,” he said.

Trump instructed the Pentagon on Wednesday to start preparing plans for the withdrawal of US troops from Syria within the next couple of months.

The fact that the Pentagon won’t pack up and go home in Syria, does make me wonder if the comment wasn’t meant more for internal consumption, campaign pleadges and mid terms, it also gives Trump a scapegoat when it doesn’t happen!

Or the Pentagon could simply be defying orders from the President and Trump can’t do anything about it.On the plus side should the American troops be forced out of Syria(taking heavy casualties with them) now the Pentagon would have an egg on their face instead of Trump.

The Pentagon and CIA will never do it. Trump has no authority over the American empire whatsoever. All he can do is tweet.

With the addition of John ‘the bigot’ Bolton to all the other loons in Trump’s cabinet it looks like ‘Mad Dog’ might be the only ‘moderate’.
