Ukraine thinks it’s more reliable than Russia in energy production

7

President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, in an interview with the German edition of Handelsblatt, proposed an alternative to the Nord Stream-2 project.

According to the Ukrainian leader, Russia is “an extremely unreliable partner.” He called the gas pipeline a “political bribe” and warned that this would lead to an economic and energy blockade of Ukraine.

“Sorry for the harsh words, but Nord Stream-2 is a political bribe for loyalty to Russia,” Poroshenko said.

As an alternative to the “economically unjustified” project, Poroshenko proposed the transit of gas through Ukraine. He stressed that it would be much cheaper, in addition, the gas pipeline could be easily and profitably modernized.

“Just ask us, instead of investing 10 billion euros in Nord Stream-2,” the Ukrainian president said.

On April 5, the construction of the “Nord Stream-2” on the territory of Finland was agreed to by the authorities. On March 27, a similar decision was made in Germany. The permit was issued by the Federal Agency for Shipping and Hydrography, it concerns a sea section with a length of 31 kilometers.

Ukraine earlier called on the US for new sanctions and passed a resolution calling to to ban the construction of the gas pipeline. The European Union said that they are not going to impose sanctions against the project, as to them it is a vital initiative in energy security.

Ukraine is super-reliable for energy transmissions, if by “reliable” one means “your pipeline is likely at any moment to be destroyed by ultra-nationals or have gas siphoned off and stolen.”

Yes, and they have had the option of investing in the Pipeline for 25 years – and have not done so!!! What the f*ck is he talking about??
Quote: Russia is ÔÇ£an extremely unreliable partner.ÔÇØ – they would HAVE TO BE a partner, if Ukraine was to be a ‘transit country’ – note, NOT the producer, NOT the recipient, but TRANSIT!! When you name the originator of the product you want to ‘transit’ (meaning to transport to the eventual user) as an agressor, you words does not carry weight! Where should the gas you will ‘transit’ then come from??

Ukraine government success since 2014:

GDP halved

Debt doubled

Hryvna 300% inflation

Implementing under pressure of IMF/EU ‘Washington consensus’ economic policies resulting in a massive transfer of wealth towards international investors and the corrupt local elite just like under the military juntas in Argentine and Chile those ‘Chicago Boys’ neo-liberal policies.

Having signed the EU association agreement implies being part of a periphery of dependent non-member states.

Yes, this whole ‘Ukrainian Adventure’ (the coup) has actually worked our rather well (for us). I wouldn’t like to think of myself as a religious fruitcake, like a highly-powered NATO politician, but I must say, it feels like karma to me. Even if the Ukraine were to manage to pull through, which it won’t, the long-term cost of supporting it would hobble both the US and EU ÔÇô all NATO ÔÇô economies.

I think we should all be doing a lot more to convince the UK/UN/US Axis that they were right about Russia and the Ukraine all along, and they should show no quarter in driving the Russians out to ensure Europe remains free (to buy gas from America). If you formulate that right, you could get one hell of a grant from Soros or any of a multitude of JohnMcCain-type ‘non-government organisations’ (except in Russia or Hungary).
