RIYADH, Saudi Arabia – US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called for Persian Gulf countries (sometimes incorrectly referred to as the Arab Gulf) to be united but singled out Iran as the reason this is not occuring during a press conference with Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir in Riyadh on Sunday.
He then said that Saudi Arabia, Washington’s chief Arab ally, and their security was a ‘priority’.
“Iran destabilises this entire region. It supports proxy militias and terrorist groups,” he said with a straight face from within the country that has supported Al-Qaeda and ISIS.
“It supports the murderous Assad regime as well,” while ignoring that Saudi Arabia stone people to death for adultery and executes those who renounce Islam.
“Unlike the prior administration, we will not neglect the vast scope of Iran’s terrorism. It is indeed the greatest sponsor of terrorism in the world,” he said without a shred of shame or noticing his hypocrisy.
Saudi Arabia is known to have directly sponsored Al-Qaeda and ISIS, it exports its puritanical interpretation of Islam known as Wahhabism around the world and is the source where the majority of the hijackers during the 9/11 attacks came from.
