The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, has joked about the cat which escaped from the house of the British spy Sergei Skripal, recently poisoned in the British Salisbury.

Earlier it was reported that Skripal’s two guinea pigs had died of thirst in a house closed off by police. A Persian cat named Nash van Drake had to be put to sleep.

However, Skripal’s niece, Victoria,  said that two cats lived in the house. Where is the second, Musya, – is unknown.

Zakharova joked that Lieutenant-Colonel Koshkin (means something like “Lieutenant-Colonel Catto” in Russian), who was able to escape, is on British territory and will carry out a task assigned to him by British special services. Earlier, a representative of the Russian Embassy in London stated that Skripal’s animals were destroyed so as not to have any evidence.
