Over 200 Soviet soldiers finally laid to rest in Latvia

ROPAZI, Latvia – Over 200 Soviet soldiers that had recently been discovered have finally been laid to rest in the Baltic country of Latvia.

“Today, 240 soldiers of the Soviet army found rest,” said Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Latvia, Evgeny Lukyanov.

They were buried in Ropazi on Saturday.

“There was an annual reburial of the remains of fighters of the Soviet Red Army, who had been found in the city of Latvia over the past year,” a member of the search group of the Red Army, Alexei Mishin added.
