Russia: Western states putting pressure on OPCW

MOSCOW, Russia –  Russia’s Permanent Representative to that organization Alexander Shulgin said on Saturday that Western states, particularly the United States, United Kingdom and France are putting pressure on the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) so much so that it has literally plunged into a war against it.

Thee Russian belives that these three states  “have no regard to the OPCW and are utterly disrespectful to its technical secretariat in the person of OPCW Director General Ahmet Uzumcu.”

“In this light, it becomes obvious that it is not Russia but the United States, France and the United Kingdom that are conducting a real war on the OPCW,” he stressed.

Shulgin alsso said that more and more member nations of the OPCW see that the United States, France and the United Kingdom are behaving in an improper way.

Shulgin believes that these states “are incapable of giving any serious argument” to contradict the witnesses of the Douma incident who spoke at the OPCW headquarters in The Hague of April 26 and that they “dodge responsibility for their criminal actions.”
