South Korean President hails meeting with North Korean leader, keeps pushing for peace
SEOUL, South Korea – South Korean President Moon Jae-in has hailed his meeting with Kim Jong-un, leader of North Korea on Monday.
The comments were made during a meeting with senior presidential secretaries in Seoul.
Moon called for a rapid ratification of the Panmunjom Declaration in the parliament, saying “through this Panmunjom Declaration, we should make this moment an irreversible historical moment for the Korean peninsula’s peace and prosperity.”
“But, we have only put forward our first step,” he stressed.

“It is only a beginning. With a new attitude and will, we should do our best to prepare to take follow-up measures,” he explained.
Days ago Kim became the first leader of North Korean to step foot on South Korea, marking a historic moment. In this meeting, both leaders agreed to work towards a lasting peace on the Korean peninsula.
